Celebrating One Year of the Chat Lounge

Chat Lounge

It has now been a whole year since Foundry Street Community Centre introduced the Chat Lounge, and it has become a much valued part of our weekly activities.

The Chat Lounge was created to offer a relaxed and welcoming space for people aged 55 and over.

It is somewhere you can enjoy a hot drink, take part in activities, and connect with others at your own pace. Whether you fancy a good natter or simply a quiet cuppa in friendly company, you will be very welcome.

  • Every Monday morning
  • 9.30am to 12.30pm

Here is what is on offer:

  •  Board games
  • Crochet with Julia, suitable for beginners and experienced crafters alike
  • Tea, coffee and light refreshments

The Chat Lounge also runs alongside our Family History Self Help Group. This is a friendly, informal group where people can support one another with their family history research.

Together we can:

  • Tackle those dead end research strands
  • Look at the best ways to store and organise your information
  • Explore useful websites for research
  • Discover more about local history, graveyards and churches

There is no need to book. You are very welcome to drop in for the whole session or simply stay for as long as suits you.

We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new visitors as the Chat Lounge moves into its second year
