CHRISTMAS FAYRE 2025. WHAT A DAY!
Following a conversation at the Great Get Together in Crow Wood Park this summer, the Trustees at Foundry Street Community Centre explored the idea of hosting a market in our hall to give local crafters a space to sell their products. From that simple idea, our Christmas Fayre was born ✨
Originally, we planned to use just the main hall and keep the ground floor free for refreshments, but the response was amazing! Requests for tables quickly overflowed, meaning we also filled the Leslie Godfrey Lounge. Huge thanks to our wonderful volunteers who helped with setting up, running the event, and clearing up afterwards
On the day, we welcomed 22 stalls across two rooms, mostly selling festive items, with others offering beautiful products perfect for Christmas presents. We had an incredible 228 visitors, with many leaving with bags (and arms!) full of purchases
We were also delighted to welcome Dominic Brunt (Paddy from Emmerdale), who toured the building and showed real interest in the work we do here. Kate Dearden MP joined us too and officially opened our newly refitted ground-floor kitchen, alongside members of Sowerby Bridge Rotary, whose support helped make the refurbishment possible
Stallholders told us they found the event really beneficial and were pleasantly surprised by the number of visitors. Thanks to everyone’s support, we raised nearly £500, all of which will go directly towards helping run the Centre.
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, ran a stall, or supported us in any way. We couldn’t have done it without you
