Eric Taylor Lounge Refurbishment
On taking over the Centre it was quickly realised the Eric Taylor lounge was not a very inviting area. Dark blue and orange walls, with a badly worn carpet. The lighting had seen better days and the ceiling was old. It was decided to concentrate on this room first, to get it looking like a place people would like to hire for their meetings.
A new suspended ceiling was installed, using a 60cms square system, along with new LED lights. The walls and woodwork were all painted by volunteers, in Chalk White and Polished Pebble paint. The cupboard doors were painted orange, with black cartoons painted on. These have been toned down with pastel colours and a new carpet was then fitted to complete the new look.
The room is now being booked for various uses and is helping to contribute towards the running of the Centre.
Our thanks must go to Swift Electrical Services of Mirfield who only came to replace the lights and ended up replacing the whole ceiling for the same price. Also Pellon Carpets, who supplied and fitted the carpet.
