Foundry Street Community Centre: August 2025 Newsletter
Trustee & Management Meetings
- Trustee Meeting: Held on Monday, 4th August.
- Management Meeting: Held on 18th August
Centre Updates
This month, much of our focus was on settling into the new kitchen. After the joiner completed tiling and fitting, volunteers got to work with a full clean, painting, and reorganising equipment. Dust had found its way across the ground floor, so the team rolled up their sleeves for a big tidy-up.
We’ve had a busy month of enquiries and new bookings for the coming weeks.
We’ve reprinted our brochure/calendar and Chat Room flyers
Looking ahead: FSCC will have a table at the Elland Hub Older People’s Event on 15th October, showcasing our user groups and activities.
Maintenance & Upgrades
Internal:
- Kitchen work completed and snagging underway.
- Plastic storage boxes purchased for user groups.
- Crockery and cutlery are rationalised and stored for larger events.
- Volunteers renovated the plasterwork, then painted the staircase walls and ceilings, re-waxed the handrails and skirtings.
- Plans for tiling the splashback are in place.
External:
- Weeding and sweeping are done, plus rubbish has been cleared via a skip.
CCTV: We are investigating funding for a 3-camera system that will cover the entrance, reception, and Undercroft, with the potential to expand later.
