Repairs, refurbishments and improvement, all made possible by our volunteers!
So we got the keys to Foundry Street Community Centre on 10th November, and we have hit the ground running.
In the 6 weeks up to Christmas, as well as clearing and cleaning the building, we have carried out quite a lot of repairs and refurbishment, Here are a lot of before and after pictures which illustrate these improvements:
- cleared and cleaned the Leslie Godfrey Lounge, the Eric Taylor Lounge and the kitchen – many thanks to Jann Broadbent for all her work here.
- cleared and cleaned the main hall - many thanks to the team from Sowerby Bridge Boxing Club.
- restored the rotting main door, stripping it back to the wood, replacing the beading, and painting it so it almost looks like a new door – many thanks to Philip Eastwood for his work restoring the door and painting the reception area.
- repaired electrical faults, leaking taps, non-flushing toilets, sticking doors and more.
