Jimmy Honey Wins Gold at the Manchester Box Club
Sowerby Bridge Boxing Club' Jimmy Honey produced a brilliant display to defeat the National Champion and win Gold at Manchester Box Club.
Jimmy went up against the current National Champion Freddie Carman from Boston ABC. in the eagerly anticipated contest.
It proved to be a batle of jabs but thanks to a great display of fitness and ring craft, Jimmy won the bout by unanimous decision.
The win caps off a fine season for Jimmy and sets him up for the Sowerby Bridge Boxing show in September.
Sowerby Bridge stablemate Logan Hardaker boxed a straight final against a very good opponent, pushing him all the way in an absorbing battle of wills, but just falling short in a split decision loss.
