Undercroft area now open
The Undercroft was a dumping ground for chairs, cleaning machines and general parts when the Centre was taken over. In need of major work the Undercroft was left while the ground floor areas and hall were made ready for hiring out and some decoration done. When Big Hugs was being discussed for the Undercroft, it was decided to move down there and start work.
After sorting out the equipent down there, the walls and ceilings were painted, not the easiest job due to the large expanse of area plus corners, columns and pipework involved. Plasterwork had to be redone in several areas, the flooring was cracked and damaged and had to be replaced and the flooring was dirty with ground in dirt.
Volunteers worked for weeks to get the job done, with a few contractors coming in to help do the more complicated jobs, resulting in the area being ready by eary July. Kirsty, of Big Hugs, then brought in her equipment so that she can run her Messy Baking down there.
The area is also available for others to hire out whenever Big Hugs is not there. For details contact FSCC on our email, foundrystreetcc@gmail.com.
